  • People coming out maybe film school or not young people becoming cinematographer & DP directly without going through this drudgery of the various levels of assistantship where you experienced a lot of things the minute you become DP you miss many on-set experiences.

  • It's very subjective Ashok Mehtahe never went to film school Subrata Mitra learn on set.

  • In Anil Mehta's experience, he went to the film school getting an education learning the ropes and having left film school come out and says 'I am not ready yet I want to assist' so he gets to understand how the profession work's, then whenever you are comfortable you can start the journey.
